News: FIFA Futsal World Cup Lithuania 2021™ technical analysis now complete

With more data at their disposal than ever before, the TSG have concluded their in-depth analysis around this framework and produced a comprehensive range of reports from Lithuania.

And what a tournament it was to have such data at one’s fingertips! With over 300 goals scored in Lithuania, and Portugal making history by lifting their first-ever world crown, this was a tournament ripe for analysis. With the Golden Ball going to Portuguese star Ricardinho and the Golden Shoe going to Brazil’s reigning two-time Best Player in the World Ferrão with his nine goals, the creators and goalscorers received plenty of focus.

However, the TSG’s deep analytical dive served up plenty of insight for futsal fanatics. Among the standout performers, Kazakh goalkeeper Leo Higuita was a fascinating player to study. His 535 passes in the tournament represented the third-highest of all players in the competition – a stunning figure for a goalkeeper.

That was just one of a number of intriguing findings from the data combined with Dell and Rodrigo’s expert views. For the full array of analysis, visit the FIFA Training Centre by navigating to the Tournament observations section at the bottom of The Game page to access the TSG’s expert findings.
